Oji Zoo have around 3000 animals, of 200 varieties. This zoo is especially nice for the younger ones, but it is inexpensive so if you have some time left in your schedule it is a nice place to check out.

Sawanotsuru Sake Museum

Sawanotsuru Sake Museum opened in November 1978, in order to leave the history of sake-brewing to future generations. The museum as well as the tools for sake-brewing was specified as the Important Tangible Folk CulturalProperty by Hyogo Prefecture in March 1980, and loved by a lot of people. Unfortunately, the museum was completely destroyed by the great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake. In 3 years and 7 months after the calamity, it was reconstructed in March 1999, with an earthquake-proof system, as a valuable cultural property.

After visiting the museum, you can do some nice tasting at the museum shop, and buy some nice original sake that you can only buy in this shop.

Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution

At the disaster reduction and human renovation institution, you can find all information about the terrible earthquake that had happened in Kobe in 1995. Filmography, photography, newspaper articles, and you can see the destroyed burning cityscape shortly after the earthquake which has been reproduced in a diorama.

There is also a volunteering service available in English, Chinese, Korean and Spanish so that you can hear the personal experience of them.

Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art

The Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art opened in April of 2004. The museum's holdings consist of the collection held by the former Museum of Modern Art, a collection amassed over the past 30 years. One of the main concepts of the Museum is to exist as an amuseum, a museum promoting the spirit of the people.

The Museum is the largest in western Japan, with a floor space of approximately 27,500 m2.
